I started woodworking about four years ago after watching one too many YouTube videos and deciding a $40 hand plane from a garage sale couldn't possibly go that wrong. It went wrong. I bought a better one.

By day I do something completely unrelated to wood. By evening and weekend, I'm usually out in the garage — which, for the record, still technically fits a car, as long as the car is parked at an angle and nobody needs the workbench moved.

This site is mostly a way to keep track of what I've built, what went wrong, and what I'd do differently next time. If you're a fellow hobbyist figuring things out as you go, welcome — you're in good company.
